YSSN in collaboration with Sunbeam Community & Developmental Services invites caregivers to Learn from a BCBA – Autism Specialist. Multiple topics are offered during this in-person Autism Education Series.
Classroom 1: Motivation and Reinforcement In this workshop caregivers will learn the differences between reinforcement and punishment, as well as learn what reinforcement is and how this impacts behaviour. Information will be shared on how to establish motivation with your child/youth and use motivation for learning new skills. There will be some discussion on the reasons we engage in certain behaviours (the functions of behaviour); whether it is to escape a task, gain attention, or access items.
In Person Event: Two presentations will be held simultaneously to meet the needs of all our caregivers, mix and match the workshop that best meet your needs.
Event Location: Your Support Services Network Office, 240 Edward St. Aurora.
All workshops are for families with children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and are registered with The Ontario Autism Program (OAP).
